With its well-organized annual fund-raising campaigns, Orange & Rockland has been a major supporter of the local United Way organizations. For the past three years, its employees and retirees gave $374,242. Those gifts were matched dollar-for-dollar by the shareholders of O&R's parent company, Consolidated Edison, Inc., for a combined total of $748,484. The company has achieved this success through a dynamic partnership with its bargaining unit, IBEW Local 503.

Day of Caring

Each year, O&R, along with other companies, donates the time of employees who sign up to participate in the United Way's annual Day of Caring. Employees contribute their expertise and muscle for a variety of tasks which member agencies may not be able to get done otherwise.

In Rockland County, Tom Brizzolara, O&R's Director of Public Affairs, serves as Chairman on the Advisory Board for the United Way of Rockland County. Neil Winter, O&R's Section Manager of Public Affairs, serves as Chairman of the Community Impact Committee. Michael Grant, O&R's Section Manager of Community Relations, serves as a Board member

In Orange County, Mark Travers, O&R's Senior Safety Administrator, serves as a Board member for the United Way of Orange County.
