of systems that generate up to 2MW.
Standards and applications can be found in the New
York State Standardized Interconnection Requirements. In most cases, the certified installer
handles the technical paperwork. Please verify this with the installer. |
Commercial
Customers:
Please review the following applicable tariffs and contact an account engineer in the New Construction
office at 845-577-3324, before
beginning the application process below:
- Net metering customers
- Non-net metering customers
- If you intend to use natural gas to operate your distributed generation system, you may qualify
for special rates on your natural gas delivery and supply through O&R. View Service
Classification Riders B and C to see if you qualify.
Prior to installation:
- Applicants should send:
- A
letter
of authorization
by customer
(if the
applicant
is an
agent
for the
customer)
- Appendix
A (New York State Standardized Contract)
- New York State Standardized Application
- three-line electrical schematic
- site plan
- Copy
of the manufacturer's
data sheet and certification
for the equipment
- installations
more than 1525kW, a $350 application fee will
be assessed
- O&R will review the application and design.
- O&R will either give approval to install the system or explain why approval was not granted.
Upon completion of installation:
- Applicants should send in proof of electrical inspection.
- O&R will witness a verification test.
- If verification test passes, O&R will return the executed agreement to applicant. (The system
should not be put in service, except for initial testing, until after the verification test.)
- If the installation is eligible for net
metering, O&R will change the revenue meter.
