Resources on the Web

Please follow the guidelines below for installation of systems that generate up to 2MW. The interconnection applications for Pennsylvania are classified by level of complexity.

  • Level 1 — Certified inverter based installations with aggregate rating less than 10 kW
  • Level 2 — Certified inverter based installations with aggregate rating 10kW to 2,000 kW
  • Level 3 — Non-certified equipment 2,000 kW or less that will export power to PCL&P
  • Level 4 — Non-certified equipment 2,000 kW or less that will not export power to PCL&P
Interconnection Procedure for Level 1

Prior to Installation

  1. Applicant should send:
    • a letter of authorization by customer (if the applicant is an agent for the customer)
    • Part 1 of the Level 1 Interconnection Application/Agreement
    • three-line electrical schematic
    • site plan
    • copy of the manufacturer's data sheet and certification for the equipment
    • application fee for level 1 review ($100)
  2. PCL&P will review the application and design.

    • Level 2, 3 or 4 Interconnection Application and Agreement
    • Attachment A – Description of Facility
    • three-line electrical schematic
    • copy of the manufacturer's data sheet and certification for the equipment
    • site plan
    • application fee
      • For level 2 application, the fee is $250 plus $1.00 per kW of the nameplate capacity rating
      • For level 3 application, the fee is $350 plus $2.00 per kW of the nameplate capacity rating
      • For level 4 application, the fee is $350 plus $2.00 per kW of the nameplate capacity rating
  2. PCL&P will review the application and design. We may require additional information depending on the complexity of the design.
  3. If additional feasibility studies and modification to the utility distribution system are required, PCL&P will notify the applicant and provide estimated costs for such study and or/modification.
