New York

You may be eligible to receive incentives to help fund the installation of photovoltaic systems through the New York Energy $martSM Solar-Electric System Incentive Program. To qualify, your system must be:

  • 15kW or smaller
  • connected to Orange & Rockland's electric distribution system
  • installed by an eligible contractor

By combining this program with other New York Energy $martSM programs, you could save 40-70% of the cost of purchasing and installing a solar-electric system.

If the system is 10 kW or smaller, excess electricity you generate may be sold to O&R through a net metering arrangement.

For details, visit New York Energy $martSM.

Information about funding programs for photovoltaic systems larger than 15kW may be found at New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) - Power Naturally.

New Jersey

New Jersey customers are eligible to receive financial incentives through the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. There is no maximum installation size, but your photovoltaic system must be sized to meet your specific electricity needs — your "local load" or "demand". If the proposed system capacity exceeds your own demand, it is not eligible for incentives under this program. (Financial incentives for larger systems are available through the Grid-Supply or Market Development Programs.)

Financial incentives are applicable exclusively for:

  • new components
  • systems installed in New Jersey homes, businesses, institutions or non-profit facilities
  • systems that include at least a 5-year, all-inclusive warranty
  • systems installed according to specific requirements

For more information about incentives for this and other renewable and clean energy generation systems, visit New Jersey Clean Energy Program.
