| An
emergency can quickly turn a life updside down. A financial reversal, an unexpected medical
problem, an accident or any other kind of emergency could happen to anyone at any time.
Sudden misfortune repects no wealth or position or status.
Maybe The Neighbor Fund can help.
The Neighbor Fund, an emergency home energy assistance fund for customers of Orange &
Rockland and Pike County Light & Power Co. has provided critical home-heating assistance
by awarding over $3.1 million in grants to more than 14,000 households enduring hardship
since 1983.
Grants from The Neighbor Fund are awarded to pay for energy costs no matter what type of
fuel is used – electricity, oil, natural gas, propane, wood or coal. The grant money
does not have to be repaid, and there are no age limits or income guidelines to be met.
To qualify for The Neighbor Fund grants, customers:
- Must have an account with Orange & Rockland or Pike County Light & Power Co.;
- Must exhaust all governmental resources available for financial assistance;
- Must provide supporting documentation of emergency or crisis circumstances (medical
bills, unemployment notification, etc.)
Who administers The Neighbor Fund grants?
